LAS is 8km from the Strip — rideshare to Strip hotels takes 15–20 minutes ($15–25). Stay on the Strip (MGM Grand, Wynn, Cosmopolitan) or off-Strip (Palms, Rio) for the most convenient EDC base. The official EDC shuttle from Strip hotels to the Speedway takes 35–45 minutes and is the recommended transport.

💡 The official EDC shuttle pass ($75–100 for the weekend) is strongly recommended — the Las Vegas Motor Speedway has limited parking and the I-15 is gridlocked during festival nights.

EDC runs 20:00–06:00 each night — the entire festival culture is inverted from conventional events. Arrive in Las Vegas, check in, and sleep from 12:00–18:00 to be genuinely refreshed for the first night. This is not optional if you want to last three nights.

💡 Blackout curtains in your hotel room, earplugs, and a firm 'do not disturb' policy on the room phone are essential — Las Vegas Strip hotels are loud during the day.

Wake at 16:00–17:00 and prepare for the first night. The Strip's casinos (Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian) are worth exploring briefly — the Bellagio fountains at dusk (every 15–30 minutes) are genuinely spectacular. Dinner at a Strip restaurant before heading to the shuttle.

EDC has a specific aesthetic — many attendees wear elaborate LED-lit costumes, rave wear, and carry kandi (plastic bead bracelets to trade). You don't have to dress up, but embracing the culture significantly enhances the experience. Eat a proper dinner at 17:30 before the 20:00 shuttle.

💡 Eat a full, high-protein meal before EDC — the nocturnal schedule means you won't have proper food until you return at dawn. Most festival food options are limited past 02:00.

Arrive at EDC by 21:00. The kineticFIELD (main stage) is the largest dedicated EDM stage in North America — the stage production, including a massive LED wall, pyrotechnics, and the custom carnival ride structures, is extraordinary. The first night is the most electric — the pent-up anticipation of the crowd arriving from 100+ countries produces an extraordinary atmosphere.

💡 The kineticFIELD headline DJ plays 01:00–03:00. Circuit GROUNDS (techno/house) plays until 06:00 and is the best late-night option for genuine electronic music fans.

Return to your Strip hotel at 05:30–06:30. Sleep until 14:00 minimum — 8 hours is needed to function on night two. The EDC shuttle drops you back at Strip hotels continuously from 04:00.

💡 Hydrate intensively when you return — the Nevada desert night air is dehydrating even at 25°C. Drink 1 litre of water before sleeping.

Las Vegas hotel pools are legendary — the Wynn, MGM Grand, and Caesars all have expansive pool complexes with day-beds, food service, and DJs. An afternoon pool session before EDC night two is genuinely restorative.

💡 Pool access is typically included with your hotel room. Day club pool parties (Marquee Dayclub at Cosmopolitan, Wet Republic at MGM) are paid events but are part of Las Vegas's EDM culture.

Night two at EDC is for exploring the smaller stages — neonGARDEN (underground house and techno), bassPOD (bass music, dubstep, drum and bass), and the carnival rides between stages. The art installations — massive LED sculptures and interactive pieces — are best explored on night two when the initial overwhelm has settled.

💡 The carnival rides operate until 05:00 — the Ferris wheel at 03:00 with the Las Vegas skyline visible to the south is one of EDC's iconic experiences.

Kandi (colourful plastic bead bracelets) are traded between EDC attendees using the 'PLUR handshake' (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect). The exchange ritual is genuine and builds community across language barriers — EDC attracts 100+ nationalities.

💡 Bring 10–15 kandi bracelets to trade — you'll receive as many in return, and by night three your arm will be covered in bracelets from people you've met from every corner of the world.

The neonGARDEN (underground stage) has consistently the most musically credible programming at EDC — techno and house DJs who play to the most knowledgeable audience. The Rave at Dawn (approximately 04:30–06:00 on the kineticFIELD) is the festival's emotional peak — the sun rising over the Mojave as 60,000 people share a final communal moment.

💡 The Rave at Dawn on the kineticFIELD is EDC's defining moment — if you can only see one thing at the festival, be at the main stage when the sun comes up.

Night three is the emotional farewell — the closing ceremony at 05:00 on the kineticFIELD brings the entire festival together for a choreographed finale. Many attendees describe it as one of the most moving concert experiences they've had.

Red Rock Canyon is 30km west of the Strip — an extraordinary sandstone escarpment in the Mojave Desert with dramatic red rock formations. A morning drive through the 13-mile scenic loop after EDC is a surreal but genuinely beautiful experience.

💡 Red Rock Canyon is at its most photogenic in the morning light (07:00–09:00) — the colours shift from orange to deep red as the sun rises. The timing after an EDC night works perfectly.

LAS Airport is 8km from the Strip — rideshare takes 15–20 minutes. Allow 2.5 hours before departure. Many EDC visitors take red-eye flights Monday morning to maximise Las Vegas time.
