The Las Vegas Strip Circuit runs down Las Vegas Boulevard at night β F1 cars passing the Bellagio, the Caesars Palace, the Sphere, and the Paris Las Vegas at speeds exceeding 320 km/h. The race starts at 22:00 local time, finishing after midnight, under the full neon blaze of the Strip. Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world β the race weekend integrates world-class concerts, casino hospitality, and unlimited spectacle into the most uniquely American F1 experience. Plan four nights.
Your 4-day itinerary
Arrival & The Strip
Morning
LAS is 8 km from the Strip β one of the closest major airports to any F1 circuit in the world. Uber/Lyft are widely available (10 min, $20). The circuit runs through the centre of the Strip β most hotels are within walking distance of the circuit grandstands.
π‘ Stay on the Strip or within 5 minutes of it β the circuit is your hotel's front lawn. The Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn, and the Venetian are the classic race-weekend hotels (and are directly on the circuit). Book 6+ months ahead; Strip rates triple for race weekend.
Walk the 6.7 km length of Las Vegas Boulevard from the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign north to the Stratosphere (now Strat Hotel). The morning is the only quiet time on the Strip β the architecture is extraordinary at 10:00 before the crowds arrive. The Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian, and ARIA complex are the architectural highlights.
Afternoon
The MSG Sphere β the world's largest LED sphere (112 metres tall, 157 metres wide) β is the most technologically remarkable entertainment venue ever built. The interior screen wraps 360 degrees; the haptic seats simulate sensations from the content. The Exosphere (exterior LED surface) visible from the circuit is a race-night landmark.
π‘ The Sphere's signature experience ('Postcards from Earth' or current residency) is unlike anything else on earth β book in advance as slots sell out during race weekend.
Downtown Las Vegas (4 km north of the Strip) is the original city β the Fremont Street Experience (a 2 km LED canopy covering the pedestrian casino district), the Neon Museum (boneyard of vintage Las Vegas signs), and the Golden Nugget casino (1946). Far grittier and more authentic than the Strip.
Evening
Las Vegas has the highest concentration of celebrity chef restaurants in the world β Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen (Caesars), Nobu (Hard Rock), Guy Savoy (Caesars Palace, 3 Michelin stars), JoΓ«l Robuchon (MGM Grand). Reserve months ahead for race weekend.
π‘ Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace is the finest dining experience in Las Vegas β a satellite of Savoy's Paris restaurant on the first floor of the Augustus Tower. Book the chef's table if available on race weekend.
Where to eat
In-N-Out Burger or Hash House A Go Go: In-N-Out Burger at the Strip location for the classic California fast food experience. Or Hash House A Go Go at the LINQ for enormous American breakfast plates.
Bellagio Buffet or casino lunch: The Bellagio Buffet is the finest casino buffet in Las Vegas β prime rib, sushi, crab legs, and extraordinary desserts.
Free Practice β 22:00 Under the Neon
Morning
The Grand Canyon is 450 km from Las Vegas (4.5 hrs drive or 45-min helicopter tour). Helicopter tours from the Strip depart from 06:00 β the most spectacular way to see the canyon and return before afternoon. Bus tours from the Strip are available but take 12 hrs return.
π‘ Helicopter tours to the Canyon floor with a champagne lunch are extraordinary β book Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters directly. The 3.5-hr Sky Terrace tour includes the Canyon floor landing.
Las Vegas pool culture is exceptional β the Strip hotel pools are open year-round. Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace, the MGM Grand Pool Complex (five pools), or the Encore Beach Club are the most memorable. November in Las Vegas is 16β22Β°C β cool but the pools are heated.
Afternoon
FP1 at 20:00 (circuit opens from 16:00). The circuit is literally outside your hotel door if you're on the Strip β walk to the grandstand gates on Las Vegas Boulevard. The pre-practice Strip atmosphere from 16:00, with the circuit closing roads and the neon warming up, is extraordinary.
Evening
FP1 at 20:00, FP2 at 23:00. The Las Vegas circuit under full floodlight, with the hotel facades as a backdrop, is the most visually spectacular in F1. Cars reach 320+ km/h on the Las Vegas Boulevard section β the fastest speed of any street circuit in the calendar. FP2 runs until 01:00 β the midnight timing is unique to Las Vegas.
π‘ The Turn 14 grandstand (Koval Lane, behind the Strip hotels) gives a view of the exit from the high-speed section back onto the main straight. The Bellagio fountain view grandstand (in the Bellagio parking structure, re-created for the circuit) gives the definitive Vegas backdrop.
Where to eat
Pre-practice Strip dinner (early β 17:00): Eat before practice β restaurants near the circuit are chaotic from 19:00 on practice nights. Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas or CUT at Palazzo for pre-practice dining.
Qualifying β The Strip at Pace
Morning
After the midnight practice session, a late brunch is essential. The Wynn's Tableau Restaurant, Bouchon Bistro (Venetian), or Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas (tables on the Strip, watching the circuit setup) are the best qualifying Saturday brunch options.
Las Vegas in daylight offers everything from poker tournaments (Bellagio, Wynn) to Cirque du Soleil (six permanent shows: O, Mystère, Ka, Michael Jackson ONE, Mad Apple, and The Beatles Love). Afternoon shows start from 14:00.
π‘ Cirque du Soleil O at the Bellagio is the most spectacular show in the world β an aquatic theatre with a pool that transforms from a stage to a 1.5 million gallon tank. Book far in advance.
Afternoon
FP3 at 20:00, qualifying at 23:00. Las Vegas qualifying at midnight is F1's most extraordinary session β cars at maximum attack down a 1.9 km boulevard between hotel facades at 320 km/h, under full LED lighting with the Bellagio as a backdrop. Q3 produces the fastest street circuit qualifying times in F1 β the long straights give massive DRS time gain, rewarding pure straight-line speed.
π‘ The grandstand at the Harmon Avenue section (Turns 4-6) for qualifying β this is where cars decelerate from 280 km/h to enter the medium-speed chicane section. The viewing angle catches cars under DRS on the long straight before the braking zone.
Evening
Las Vegas doesn't sleep β after 01:00 qualifying, the Strip is still fully operational. Omnia Nightclub (Caesars), XS (Wynn), or Drai's Beachclub for the post-qualifying party. The combination of F1 drivers, celebrities, and the Las Vegas casino world is unique to this race weekend.
Where to eat
Race Night & Departure
Race start 22:00 PST (06:00 UTC +1 day). LAS Airport operates 24 hours. Most overnight flights depart 04:00β08:00. Uber surge pricing is high post-race β pre-book Uber Reserve if possible.
Morning
Race starts at 22:00 so the day is free β a long brunch, a final casino session, or the Neon Museum (vintage sign boneyard, best visited at dusk). Check out in the afternoon if staying elsewhere race night, or hold the room until late if your hotel allows.
Afternoon
50 laps of the Strip Circuit. Race start 22:00. The Las Vegas GP is F1's most photogenic race β cars at 320 km/h against the neon facade of the world's most extravagant city, at midnight, with 100,000 fans on the grandstands and millions watching on television. The race runs to approximately 00:30. The 1.9 km Las Vegas Boulevard section produces the most overtaking of any street circuit due to the massive DRS straight. The post-race show, with the Las Vegas skyline as backdrop, is unlike any other podium on the calendar.
π‘ The Turn 14-15 grandstand (the section that turns off the Strip and back toward the casino district) gives the best view of the street circuit's fastest corners. The Bellagio fountain grandstand (available via hospitality packages) is the most photographed seat in F1.
Evening
Race finishes approximately 00:30. LAS Airport is 8 km from the Strip β most trans-continental and international flights depart early morning (04:00β08:00). Stay up for the post-race party or take an Uber directly to LAS from the circuit.
Where to eat
Pre-race dinner (17:00β18:00 β eat early): Eat a proper meal before the race starts at 22:00 β casino restaurants are overwhelmed from 20:00 on race night.
