Charlotte Douglas is 10 minutes from Quail Hollow Club — one of the most convenient airport-to-course commutes at any major. Rental car or rideshare both work well. Stay in South Charlotte or the SouthPark area for proximity to the course.

Practice round tickets are released via pgachampionship.com and offer the most relaxed access — players practice, sign autographs, and are generally more approachable. Wednesday's pro-am is particularly good for close player access.

Quail Hollow's 'Green Mile' is the most dramatic closing stretch in American major championship golf. The 16th (par-5), 17th (par-3 over water), and 18th (par-4 dogleg) have decided multiple PGA Championships. Position yourself at the 17th green to watch tee shots over the water.

💡 The 17th at Quail Hollow plays over a large water hazard — it's the most visually dramatic shot of the tournament and creates most of the leaderboard drama on Sunday.

Charlotte Uptown (the city centre) is 20 minutes from Quail Hollow. Stroll the Epicentre, explore the arts district on North Davidson Street (NoDa), and choose your restaurant for the evening. Charlotte has grown dramatically as a food city.

Kindred (Davidson, 30 min north) was named the best restaurant in North Carolina. Closer in, Angeline's (modern Italian in the Marriott City Center) and Bardo (Charlotte's best cocktail bar) are excellent post-golf options.

Tournament gates open at 07:00. The first groups tee off around 07:30–08:00 (Thursday/Friday). Early tee times mean thin crowds — you can walk inside the ropes with single players in the early morning. Get to the 1st tee for the first group of the day.

💡 The most dramatic viewing position at Quail Hollow is the 18th green amphitheatre — arrive by 13:00 to claim a good standing position before the leaders come through.

Pick up a pairing with a world top-10 player from the 1st or 10th tee and walk the full nine with them. The PGA Championship's general admission philosophy means you genuinely follow players rather than sitting in one spot.

Bardo bar on South Tryon Street is Charlotte's best cocktail experience. For dinner, The Capital Grille (classic steakhouse) or Lumiere (French bistro) are the standard upscale choices near Uptown.

Freedom Park is Charlotte's most beloved urban park — 98 acres with a lake, arts centre, and excellent running and cycling paths. A morning walk here after two days of golf is restorative.

Charlotte Douglas Airport is 10–15 minutes from most Charlotte hotels. Allow 2.5 hours before departure. CLT is a busy US Airways/American hub with excellent connections throughout the US and internationally.
