- 1.Belgian beer culture is UNESCO heritage โ ordering a beer correctly (by brand name and correct glass) is taken seriously.
- 2.Frites (chips) are a national institution. The Belgian chip is twice-fried in beef fat โ this is the correct way.
- 3.Language sensitivity: in Brussels, starting in French or English is usually safest. In Ghent or Bruges, Dutch first.
- 4.Never confuse Belgian and French waffles to a Belgian โ they are different products.
- 5.Tomorrowland and major events: camping culture is friendly and communal.
